After AL1Stop.com has processed your transaction, you will receive a copy of the transaction record via e-mail. This is to serve as your final verification that your payment has been received or to notify you if there were problems processing your transaction. Does the local government pay the credit card or check processing costs?
Governments pay no additional processing costs. All the processing costs associated with the AL1Stop.com payment system are borne by AL1Stop.com, and covered by the Handling fees.
Why do I have two separate charges to my credit card?
You have not been overcharged. Each payment you make with AL1Stop.com will result in two charges to your credit card. One is your tax payment which goes directly to the government. The other is a Handling fee which goes to AL1Stop.com to cover processing expenses.
Why can't I renew my car tag online if it is overdue?
If your car tag is overdue, a late penalty is assessed on your account by the government. This penalty is determined by the government based on several factors and can not be assessed by AL1Stop.com. AL1Stop can not process your payment. Please contact your county tax collector to renew your tag.
How do I obtain a refund or cancel my transaction?
Once you have executed your transaction on the AL1Stop.com web site successfully and you wish to obtain a refund, you must contact your Tax Collector's Office with whom your car tag or property is registered. The Tax Collector has the authority to allow or not allow a refund. Request a refund/cancellation of the transaction from the Tax Collector. Once AL1Stop.com has received confirmation from the Tax Collector's Office to issue a refund, your credit card company should reflect the refund in 5-7 business days from the date that AL1Stop.com issued the refund.
